 Becoming a pet owner is not a decision to be taken lightly. Many questions should be asked of yourself to make sure you and/or your family are ready for the time and commitment it takes to train and raise your new puppy to grow up to be a healthy and happy dog. Not unlike raising a child your new puppy will need hours of attention to get him/her on track to being a well trained and mannered dog you will love and have with you and your family for years to come.

Just as you would not let your 2 year old child out of your sight for fear of him/her getting into trouble, or worse, hurt ,you should pay as much attention to your puppy. Taking a puppy and  leaving it to roam the house or the yard unattended usually only leads to destroyed belongings,  a torn up yard, or worse , the puppy becoming ill or death due to it doing something  that could have been avoided if he/she was looked after. 

With a Vizsla puppy you will be adding a very loving and loyal pet that will be a big part of your life for years to come.

We don't wish to scare a potential puppy owner away just let you know your cute little puppy will need lots of love and attention to grow up and become a beautiful adult Vizsla . You will witness what a great breed of dog the Vizsla is.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself and your family to see if you are ready to bring a Vizsla into your family.

1. Do you have the time a puppy needs to train and look after which can get very frustrating but is very rewarding in the end?

2. Do you have the time to spend with your puppy/dog for walks in the neighborhood or play time in the yard?

3. Are you prepared to maintain your Vizslas health with regular visits to the vet for regular vacinations and parasite treatments?

4. Are you prepared to maintain your pets healthy diet with the added cost of quality dog food?

5. Are you prepared to have a 60lb "lap" dog that wants to sit next to you on the couch, sneak onto the bed, or follow you into the shower?  Thats right, these dogs want to be with you 24/7, very loving, loyal, and they bond with their families!

If you answered yes to all the above you should have what it takes to be a Vizsla owner!

With a Vizsla they love doing everything with their family, from a jogging or walking partner, spin in the car, ride on the boat , swimming in the pool/lake, to sleeping snuggled next to you on the couch or bed. They are happy hanging out with the family or being a great hunting partner in the field.

If you are looking for a dog to kennel outside away from the family and not devote the time to ,this is not the breed to look at.
